What are cookies?
In order for you to sign on to Abebooks and allow us to protect your information, we require verification of your identity each time you request or send information to our Web site. We do this by reading a "cookie" file stored on your computer. In order for this process to work, your Internet browser is required to be configured to accept cookies.
To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 6.x:
1. In the Tools menu, click [Internet Options]
2. Click the [Privacy] tab
3. Click the [Advanced] button
4. Select the [Override automatic cookie handling] option
5. In the First Party Cookies options select [Accept]
6. In the Third Party Cookies options select [Accept]
7. Select the [Always allow session cookies] option
8. Click [OK]
To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 5.x
1. From the Tools menu, click [Internet Options]
2. Click the [Security] tab
3. Click the [Custom Level] button
4. Scroll down through the window to locate the Cookie Section. Internet Explorer 5 contains two separate locations where cookies are changed:
· Allow Cookies that are stored on your computer
· Allow per-session Cookies, not stored
5. Enable your cookies at each location
6. Click [OK]
To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 3x, 4.0:
1. From the View menu, click [Internet Options]
2. Click the [Advanced] tab
3. Select the appropriate Cookie Preferences

To enable cookies in Netscape 7.x:
1. From the Edit menu, click [Preferences]
2. Double-click [Privacy & Security]
3. Click the [Cookies] subcategory
4. Select the [Enable all cookies] option
5. Click [OK]
To enable cookies in Netscape Communicator (newer versions):
1. From the Edit menu, click [Preferences]
2. Click [Advanced]
3. Select the [Accept all cookies] option
4. Click [OK].
To enable cookies in Netscape Communicator (version 3 and older):
1. From the Options menu, click [Preferences]
2. Click the [Protocol] tab
3. Select your Cookie Preferences

To enable cookies in Opera 5.11
1. From the File menu, click [Preferences]
2. Click [Privacy]
3. Select the following Cookies settings:
· Automatically Accept All Cookies
· Accept From Any Server

Cookies Not Accepted Due to Time/Date
Sometimes your browser does not accept cookies because the Time/Date in your task bar is set to an incorrect date.
To adjust your Time/Date:
1. Click [Start], point to Settings, and then click [Control Panel]
2. Double-click [Date/Time]
3. On the Date & Time tab, set your computer's date to the current date
4. Click [OK]
